Drop Date:     Tuesday, March 28, is the last day to drop a course
and receive an automatic grade of` ``W”.

Purpose:         This course provides an introduction to the concepts and techniques of linear algebra which are needed in advanced courses in mathematics, science, engineering and other areas.

Scope:            We will cover systems of linear equations, lineary transformations, spaces and subspaces, matrices and matrix algebra, determinants, eigenvalues, and eigenvectors. The student is expected to do all assigned homework exercises. Mathematics is not a spectator sport.
