Financial Aid
The primary financial support provided by the departments for graduate students is in the form of teaching assistantships (TAs) and the occasional research assistantship. Of course, there are also competitive private and college-wide scholarships . For more information contact the Financial Aid Office and the Scholarship Office. For general financial aid, 4 hours of coursework is required. Some local (CoS) scholarship information can be found at College of Sciences scholarships.
Currently department Teaching Assistants are paid around $5400 per semester for full-time work (20 hours per week). In order to qualify you must be a full-time graduate student taking at least 6 hours of graduate coursework. For information on applications for a TA position, requirements, etc., please contact the current director of TAs, Professor Dung Le.
